Less than 1,000 Since Restoration and it is Ready to Show. We are
told that the restoration was performed on a rust-free California
body and it was stripped down to the bare metal. What is the
quality of the restoration? It has been panel gapped to ensure nice
fitment from panel to panel. The PPG Viper Red paint is
unquestionably "show quality".
The 455 CID Pontiac engine has been professionally built. It has
been bored 30 over with balanced forged pistons and rods. It has a
10.5 to 1 compression ratio. The engine is cooled with a Griffin
Aluminum 4 core custom radiator with 7 gallons of coolant in the
system. It has an excellent sound with powder-coated headers and 2
1/2 inch full exhaust. It has a 4 Speed Automatic (4L60E)
Transmission and a TCI transmission electronic control unit and an
HEI distributor. Smooth shifting, plus low 2,000 RPM at 70 mph.
Freeway friendly. AND, if you're ready for "heart-racing"
performance- she's ready too! It has a correct GTO Nodular Posi
unit with a 3.55 to 1 ratio.
Our seller tells us that this "recreation" of a GTO was created
from a one owner Tempest Custom from California, and, that it was a
rust free car prior to its restoration. The ONLY way to tell that
this is not a GTO is by the two digits in the VIN. A 35 in the VIN
tag in the door jamb would be a 42.
Many new components have been added: Halogen Halo headlights,
bumpers, GTO hood, GTO Rally Gauge cluster, electrical mounts,
bushings, interior trim, interior door panels, interior seat
covers, dash pad, convertible top, Rally I wheels, BF Goodrich
Radial T/As, Hotchkiss front suspension, front disc brakes, and
gauges.
You will be impressed when you see this "GTO" tribute in person,
and, you'll be happy with all of the time, hassle and money you
saved by buying it finished and "turn key" ready!
