The Solstice was originally a design exercise authorized by Bob Lutz to generate excitement and show Pontiac was heading in a new direction. To GM's surprise the car proved so popular that - like the 1952 Corvette - GM decided to put one into production. GM developed a brand-new bespoke hydro-formed chassis and It was shared with the Saturn Sky to help recoup cost. This Aggressive Red Solstice GXP coupe is very special. It's one of only 1266 Solstice GXP Coupes ever built, and one of 364 built with a manual transmission, AND one of 148 finished in Aggressive Red! Can you say RARE! Never mind the exclusivity of this car, but it's a low mileage cream puff as well; turning only 7600+ miles since leaving the factory. Being a GXP, the car was ordered with the 260hp Ecotec 4 but was upgraded with GM's in-house programming - pushing power to 290hp. The car also has every option available for the Solstice GXP Coupe to include the red stitching on the black leather seats and Monsoon audio system. The car even comes with the ultra-rare Foldable Soft-top, GM's own - coupe specific - car cover, vinyl storage bag for the hard Targa-top roof panel, all weather floor mats and front mud guards!
