Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this sharp 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. 1973 is a very unique year as it is a mixture of old and new with a chrome bumper on the rear and a urethane front bumper! This is the only year for this mismatch as 1972 and back had both front and rear chrome, and 1974 and up had urethane front and rear. These cars are starting to become collector favorites for that reason. On top of that, and the ownership history of this particular vehicle, it is also rare being a convertible. Only 4,943 of the 30,0464 Corvettes produced in 1973 were convertibles! The front bumper on these were changed to meet Federal Safety requirements in a 5 MPH crash. Other changes in 1973 include: a new coolant overflow recovery system, sound deadening material sprayed on interior panels for a quiter ride, new chassis mounts that better isolate road chatter and vibration, recessed wipers replaced the vacuum controlled panel that were prone to failure on previous years, steel beams were added inside the doors to improve side impact protection, and rear luggage space increased by 2" in height. So the 1973 Corvette was quieter, safer, and a better driving vehicle than previous years thanks to these changes! This is the original color combination of Yellow paint with a Saddle interior, and a black soft top. By this time in its life almost every part on the car has been replaced or rebuilt to keep it on the road including paint and the soft top, but it is still powered by the numbers matching engine, transmission, and rear end. The 350 CID V8 has a nice sound and puts out plenty of power for cruising in style! Everyone will certainly see you coming in this bright yellow Corvette.
