On April 11, 1950, Studebaker announced it would make available its 245.6-cubic-inch "Hi-Mileage" power plant in the half-ton pick-up. This versatile engine was a direct descendent of the one designed for use in the 1932-1933 Rockne. It was later used in prewar trucks as well as the Dictator and Commander car lines. After the war, displacement was increased from 224 to 245.6 cubic inches; it was used in the 1947-1950 Commanders and all of the larger trucks. Yep, Studebaker built trucks and rather stylish ones at that! It's safe to say Studebaker was definitely a player at almost all levels. This wild and unique 1950 pickup has been really taken to another level with its creative restoration, and if you're looking for something unusual on the road today, this is once in a lifetime choice!
