When you want one of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, it's time
to check out this 1966 Plymouth Satellite. It was born with an
ultra-desirable dual-quad Hemi 426 V8, and so you know it's true
Mopar royalty. There's even a terrific amount of paperwork to back
it all up, including the original window sticker! So on a coupe
this important, you can really see they took the time to keep it
looking sharp, vintage, and all-around striking.
These cars can look incredibly sophisticated in the right color,
and the factory-correct Dark Blue Metallic gets it just right. It
was updated later in life, so that the deep blue still gives off a
nice gloss in the sunshine. These intermediate Mopars had a
full-size look with a wide stance and confident lines in the
cantilever roof. At the same time, they integrated some sleekness
with the rounded curve built into the door line. It created one of
the most unique and handsome designs on the streets - and it was
only available for a few short years. While the color complements
the design on this one, there's also much more that's grabbing your
eye. The full-width grille, full-length trim, and shining chrome
bumpers are terrific for the premium accenting.
The sea of blue continues inside to give this a well-coordinated
look. And the overall condition does a great job of showing off
this Plymouth's vintage style. The bucket seats have an intricate
pattern that really grabs attention, and the door panels and rear
seats carry this design, too. There's plenty of bright trim
throughout the interior - especially on the retro-cool center
console. We know you'll love all the great original touches on this
one, including the working AM radio and optional tach on the center
console. Plus, a performance car like this needs a three-spoke
steering wheel.
You can instantly see they also invested heavily in keeping the
engine bay looking quite factory fresh. That's because this one was
one of the few Mopars born with the 426 Hemi V8 with dual
four-barrel carburetors on top. That kind of history makes it
instantly desirable, but what makes it a true star is that this
block is believed to be original to the car. It has a date code
in-line with the coupe build date, and there's a long history file
on the ownership. So yes, this shows as a full pedigree dual-quad
Hemi Mopar! There was even a proper engine rebuild in 2006, and it
has been treated with greatest care ever since (the consignor only
runs this on racing fuel.) The stout Torqueflite A727 three-speed
automatic transmission and 3.23 limited-slip rear end are believed
to be part of this highly original package, too. This was even
built with desirable options like power steering a power brakes
with discs up front.
The sale comes with a significant documentation file, including the
original windows sticker, dealer invoice, factory buildsheet,
warranty card, owner's manual, title documentation, maintenance
records, and build receipts. There's even Galen Govier
documentation and correspondence on this special Hemi. This also
come with plenty of this car's original components, inclusion the
fuel pump, washer tank, and hub caps. You also get a second set of
wheels with this car's correct-option blue streak tires. It's all
part of a package that made to excite your muscle car heart and win
admiration/awards from other performance car fans. So if you're a
true muscle car connoisseur, don't let something this distinct slip
away. Call now!
