Ladies and Gentlemen, Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City has just
received a vehicle that will help you to put fun into our lovely
pandemic! Now for sale and now for fun, a 1960 Austin Healy, Mark 1
Sprite! Try to wipe the smile off your face when driving! You
can't! If you have had thoughts of putting an engine in your
bathtub, slapping a steering wheel and wheels on it and taking her
for a spin on the roadway, that is possibly what the British were
thinking when they created the 1960 Austin Healy, 'Bug Eyed'
Sprite! The Sprite was announced to the press in Monte Carlo by the
British Motor Corporation on 20 May 1958, two days after that
year's Monaco Grand Prix. It was intended to be a low-cost model
that "a chap could keep in his bike shed", yet be the successor to
the sporting versions of the pre-war Austin Seven. The Sprite was
designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, with production being
undertaken at the MG factory at Abingdon. It first went on sale at
a price of £669, using a tuned version of the Austin A-Series
engine and as many other components from existing cars as possible
to keep costs down. Our very cute Nevada Beige Austin Healy has a
'Purrs like a kitten' newly rebuilt 4 cylinder engine that cranks
out 43 horse power! Plus, shifting a car has never been more
entertaining than running through the gears in the newly rebuilt
transmission. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a very small car
offering very big fun for not much money! There's really nothing
more to say than, "Come and get it!" Call your smart and very
handsome auto specialists at Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City -
