Over 21 Million Beetles built from 1938 through 2003. That is a lot
of Beetles. With the exception of a few facelifts, lighting changes
and safety features, the Beetle was basically a one-design from the
start. There is so much history on the car, the designers and how
the car started. Especially most know the relationship between
Porsche and Hitler and the car called "The Peoples Car". However
the car would turn in to much more of an iconic symbol from
affordable transportation to Hippies to collector and everything in
between. This particular example still retains its original paint
and patina. Has its original interior and drivetrain. The Beetle
appears to be from the West Coast due to the lack of rust and rot.
There are a few places of surface rust due to the years and years
of usage but by no means is this is rusty used up Beetle.
Furthermore the seller has just put several thousand dollars in to
a full brake job complete with Wheel Cylinders, Master Cylinder,
Hoses, Shoes and Drums. Four new tires were added along with a full
valve adjustment, oil change, tune (rotor, condenser, wires, cap,
points, fuel filter) up and valve cover gaskets. Needless to say
the car runs, drives, idles and stops very nicely. The rear pop-out
windows are a nice touch as well. This car gets looks everywhere it
goes. This car is ready to be driven and enjoyed for many more
miles.
