Most Jeeps today have a fancy name and a huge sticker. In 1973, a
base CJ-5 listed for just over $3,000.00 (plus top) and was the
foundation for these new models. This outstanding CJ-5 Jeep has
been fully restored back to better-than-original condition (2020).
The solid body was carefully refinished in Daisy Yellow w/factory
Renegade trim. A new top, doors, chrome mirrors, fender flares, 15"
alloys with Delinte All-Season radials and a chrome front 'Bull
Bar' provide perfect accents. The underside of the CJ body has been
completely undercoated and the interior is fitted with
reupholstered vinyl seats, grab bar, new factory gauges and a roll
bar. New floorpans with custom brass drain plugs were installed and
coated with beadliner before new carpeting was added. The upgraded
AM/FM stereo system is Bluetooth compatible. During this era, the
CJ series used various AMC powertrains. Power for this CJ is
provided by the 258ci (4.2L) AMC Torque Command straight-six. It
has never required a rebuild and sounds very strong thru a new
ceramic-coated exhaust system - these motors are virtually
bulletproof. A 3-speed manual transmission is mated with a Dana 20
2wd/4wd Hi/Lo transfer case w/manual Warn front hubs. The '73 CJ
used a Dana 30 front differential and a Dana 44 in the rear. The
spotless chassis retains a stock leaf spring suspension w/upgraded
shock/axle snubbers, manual steering and manual 4-wheel drum
brakes. A heavy-duty skid plate has been added to protect the
transmission and transfer case. This classic CJ-5 has been
carefully restored and it is ready to go. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS
