This is a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute that is meant to be
noticed. Not only do you have vibrant orange paint on this hardtop,
but also a performance-built big block with the four-speed and
drivetrain to go with it. There are even cutouts in case you want
them to hear you coming!
The 1966 Chevelle was updated to get us into the muscle car era. A
firmly ceased eyebrow up front, rear fenders bulging upward, flying
buttresses on the c-pillar, and taillights hooded by the extended
fenders all made a substantial statement. And this one shows it in
a distinct way. The attention-grabbing orange paint you see on this
car is an upgrade later in life. It loves the sunshine with its
modern gloss and slick clearcoat appearance. But the paint was far
from the only major investment in this classic. The doors shut
solid; the hood and trunk line up nicely when closed; and the
bumpers have a bright polish. So you can tell this one wants
admiration for more than just the paint. It also has the right
Super Sport upgrades with the dual power bulges in the hood,
blacked-out grille, blacked-out rear panel, SS badging, and ribbed
rockers. And those chrome Ridler wheels staggered18/20 inch
front/rear for an aggressive stance hint at this hardtop's upgraded
power.
The black interior looks great against the vibrant orange, and it
really gets you in the mood for speedy business. So it's especially
nice that there was an overall investment here in quality. This is
a great driving setup with classic features like front bucket
seats, a center console in-between, and a big/grippy Chevy steering
wheel that's on tilt steering column. There are also the right
upgrades. For example, you have a correct-style column-mounted
tach. And that Hurst T-bar shifter just look like an awesome place
to rest your right hand. So while you have a retro-style AM/FM
radio and upgraded speakers, you also really know your favorite
soundtrack starts with what's under the hood.
The engine bay has the tidy look of big power. It's instantly
attractive with smooth inner fenders, and a bright finish on the
valve covers, steel-braided lines, alternator, and more. And while
the callout on the air topper says this is a 427, you're actually
looking at a larger 454 cubic-inch V8. More than just added
displacement, this big block has a Holley four-barrel carburetor,
MSD ignition, and headers for a terrific power package. It fires up
with a wicked growl, but any time you really want to bring the
thunder, a switch under the dash opens up the electric cutouts for
a brutal sound. You're in complete control of this big V8 and its
muscle car symphony thanks to the desirable four-speed manual
transmission. This feeds the stout 12-bolt rear end. Plus, power
steering, power brakes w/discs up front, rear air shocks, and a
rear sway bar make this powerful machine more comfortable to enjoy,
too.
This is the iconic hardtop built for added power and bolder style.
That makes for a truly irresistible muscle car. Call today!!!
