Wow, look what we have here! A real Road Runner with striking
colors optioned out with air conditioning, power steering, power
disc brakes and a #s match 4-speed. Southern car with great metal
and it underwent a rotissery restoration.
EXTERIOR: This Road Runner shows really well. It has great colors,
stance and it's shiny. The body apears to be really clean metal.
It's straight, the panels fit nicely. It has original 1/4 panels,
the wheel well lips have factory dimples. The rare factory color
with no ugly vinyl top looks great. It's polished very smooth and
glossy. The black stripes on the hood are painted glossy, they're
smooth to the touch. New windshield. Up front the grill looks like
it's good original, the bumper's been rechromed, the emblem is new.
The remote mirrors, antenna and stainless trim look like good
originals. Door handles were replaced. In back the bumper and tail
lights look new. The door jambs were painted nice- the weather
strip, window seals and sill plates were replaced. Going for the
stripped down hot rod look it has steel rims painted a high gloss
with new chrome lug nuts. It rolls on Firestone reproduction red
line tires.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car and right now and everything looks
good. That pistol grip shifter coming out of the floor is my
favorite part. Also in front of me it has a factory tachometer and
AM/FM radio. The dash pad, instrument lense, glovebox liner are
new. I'm sitting on a bucket seat, the upholstery front and back
has been redone. The door panels are replaced. Overhead it has a
new headliner, visors and mirror. The carpets were replaced and it
has embroidered roadrunner floor mats. It has the reverse light
below the dash and it works. The air conditioning vents were neatly
installed down below, almost out of sight.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Great looking motor compartment. Clean metal is
painted the body color. The vin is stamped on the core support and
on the fender tag which is still attached. I have decoded the tag
and the car matches it real well except for new air conditioning
system. At the heart of it is a 383 motor. It looks as fresh as a
new born. Painted fresh, nuts, bolts, brackets, pulleys are clean.
It has stock manifolds, valve covers and restored air cleaner. It
features power steering, power brakes and new heat and a/c. All the
components look proper. It has the Beep Beep horn, washer bottle is
hooked up to the squirters, fan and shroud look new. It has
reproduction battery, bolted down properly, new cables.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: New metal trunk floor. The quarter panels look
to be original, I don't see any cuts or splices. It has a jack and
the spare has a new matching reproduction redline tire. Bottom of
the trunk is glossy, has new decal and latch.
UNDERSIDE: The metal under this car is incredibly dry and clean.
The floors don't look like they have any patches. The frame rails
are all spotless. The inner rockers and lower rear quarters are
even clean metal, the factory drain plugs are still intact, the
factory spot welds are still visible. It's exceptionally clean, the
whole bottom of the car was painted the same Sunfire yellow as the
top. The front end has been rebuilt and painted. The ball joints,
tie rod ends, bushings, shocks were replaced. It also has new
shocks in back. New exhaust with Dyno Flow mufflers, x-pipe and the
correct chrome tips in back. Disc brakes in front, the brake lines
have been replaced, the emergency brake cable system is hooked up.
Looking up at the motor it looks very fresh, starter looks new. It
has it's vin numbers matching 4-speed. Original 3.55 rear end in
back. Fuel tank, straps and lines were replaced.
This Road Runner checks a lot of boxes. Try and find another with
all these features, great colors, has clean metal and was restored
as well as this one!
