The GT was produced by Marcos Engineering in Britain and offered intermittently between 1964 and 1990. The car featured a fiberglass body over a monocoque chassis incorporating nearly 400 pieces of plywood, with a resulting curb weight of approximately 1,800 pounds. This example has been fitted with a replacement body that was sourced from Marcos Engineering, Ltd. and painted in a Lotus orange. Minilite-style 13″x7″ wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires and feature Ford bolt patterns, for which new aluminum front hubs were sourced from the UK. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, with rebuilt calipers as well as new flex hoses and hard lines. The interior is trimmed in custom black Porsche leather with black metal grommets and matching carpets. The dashboard has a Restomod Air Bantam HVAC system, and power windows were installed during the refurbishment. Fixed-position seats are mounted lower than the front floors, and an adjustable pedal setup is controlled via a knob on the left side of the dashboard.
A three-spoke Luisi steering wheel frames a Smiths speedometer and tachometer. Gauges for amperage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are mounted in the center of the dash. 69,499 miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. Total mileage is unknown. Approximately 320 miles have been added since restoration.
The Ford Kent crossflow inline-four was overbored to 1,700cc and rebuilt using modified Kent 1,300cc pistons with a smaller dish, Maxpeedingrods connecting rods, a ported big-valve cylinder head, a Piper 300 camshaft, and an HPE finned valve cover. Induction is via new dual Weber sidedraft carburetors, while exhaust is through a heat-wrapped header. Cooling is from an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.73:1 differential.
