Overview
Since 1999, Roadster Salon has been passionately restoring and modifying Italian convertibles. As the largest resource for Spiders in North America, we currently have nearly 100 Spiders in stock---featuring many colors, model years and options. This ultra low mile, rust free example however, is not a restoration. It is a pristine example purchased from an estate. Only minor cosmetic and mechanical refreshening was necessary to bring this collector quality example to its current condition. This is an incredible--near original survivor that is Roadster Salon certified, and ready to roll.
Drive as is with the factory automatic, or have us convert it to a five-speed. The choice of transmission affects only delivery time--and not price as conversion cost is included.
Please note that the color of this car is the original Rosso Cherry finish that most closely resembles Ferrari Red---not the less desirable orange cast tomato red found on 83-85 Pininfarina models.
The conditon of the exterior paint was superb on arrival, with no rust or significant imperfections. Frankly, much too nice for a nearly 40 year old classic. We were told the sun had ruined the clear coat, and too much buffing through the years had damaged the paint in several areas--so the original owner repainted the car several years ago in its factory color.
This Spider was driven only sparingly, but consistently each year. It did not sit for long periods, which is ideal. Upon arrival, we put the spider through our certification process to make it eligible for our exclusive warranty. All necessary mechanical work and updates have been completed. Wear items like brake pads, tires, shocks, etc, have been replaced. Engine fully serviced--timing belt changed and leak free. Once again we must stress, this spider is a near original example, beautifully preserved, and was not in need of full restoration.

Cosmetic Impressions
Close inspection shows a simpy outstanding that was well cared for without incident or previous damage. All key cosmetic items appear as new. Car has been refinished in its original color combination to remain true to the intent of the manufacturer. Car appears to have been dis-assembled prior to paint. No tape lines, definitely high-end work. Consequently, its one of the nicest cars we have ever offered at a budget price. The interior is a mix of leather and vinyl sufaces, with a hand stitched leather console as an upgraded highlight.
The entire presentation is near new in appearance. The original carpets are still installed, but may be replaced no charge at the discretion of the new owner. Non smoker owned, no smells, odors or mildew. Really nice.
Mechanical and Driving Impressions
Car is a joy to drive, although test runs have been kept to a minimum due to the extremely low original mileage on the car. It can easily be shown and transported from event to event---or actually driven daily. Original, vintage feel has been retained. This is one of the most outstanding combination of miles and condition you are likely to ever find. Car feels fresh, and tracks cleanly. No evidence of abuse or neglect found anywhere.
All mechanical concerns have been addressed prior to delivery. Grade A
Market Analysis
In terms of finish level, this spider most closely aligns with our "Originale" restoration, and covered by our exclusive warranty. It's a wonderful example that can be shown or driven daily for about half the price of one of optioned Avanzato models. This spider is certain to appreaciate significantly in the coming years, and is a great value. Choose the orginal automatic transmission, or the manual 5 speed. Own a true piece of automotive history by the same designer as Ferrari for the cost of a new Toyota.
